Exotic side blown bamboo flutes featuring 4, 5, 6, and 7 hole tunings. My bamboo flutes are tuned to Pentatonic scales, Harmonic minor scales, Arabian scales, Egyptian scales and Ragas from India. In the workshop, I cure a few species of Chinese bamboo throughout the year. I am always buying and stocking great bamboo in various diameters and I'm constantly building orders and perfecting my work.

When I build your bamboo flute order I drill the emboucher (breath hole) and the finger holes then I size the holes through burning with a selection of hot burning rods heated by fire. I use all natural products to create the finishes. Eco-flow water based stain is used to achieve the finishes and almond oil creates the final polish.

Some of my bamboo flutes are based on the David Carradine flute design where the bamboo flute can rest on the left shoulder like a violin and the flute has a sound chamber above the breath hole. I have been building Carradine style flutes for many years now including before his passing. My bamboo flutes are built in the ancient tradition of the master flute builders from China and India.
