History looks back upon a time when the Japanese Samurai could not carry their Samurai swords.
The Samurai being clever decided to make their bamboo flutes out of the root end stock of strong bamboo species and turned their Shakuhachi flutes into weapons! Interesting history!
I tune this flute to the Major Scale.
Meditative and uplifting sounding.
You can also play in the minor scale with this 5 tone hole flute tuning. Includes a thumb hole like the Shakuhachi flute.
Made from cured Green bamboo.
Water based stain application on the inside of the bore, paint brush work, woodburning, steel wool work to bring out the natural look of the bamboo.
A weathered looking bamboo flute with waxed vinyl thread binding.
I've added the Kanji script for SAMURAI to enhance the appearance and intention of this wonderful sounding unique bamboo flute.

We received the two beautiful flutes on Monday 22DEC. We wanted to let you know how pleased we are with our purchase. You did an outstanding job crafting these wonderful instruments. Our son is having a fabulous time with both flutes (and so are we and everyone else in this household).
I'd like to order a flute for my 23 year old son. He plays piano (classical and jazz), all string and all percussion instruments. He has never played the flute, but we think he would really enjoy one created by you. Will you please recommend one that you think an accomplished musician would enjoy the challenge of learning to play? We appreciate your advice and will place the order as soon as we hear back from you.
