Zen

Zen is a school of Mahāyāna Buddhism. The Japanese word Zen is derived from the Chinese word Chán, which in turn is derived from the Sanskrit word dhyāna, which means "meditation".

en emphasizes experiential prajñā in the attainment of enlightenment. As such, it de-emphasizes theoretical knowledge in favor of direct realization through meditation and Dharma practice.

The emergence of Zen as a distinct school of Buddhism was first documented in China in the 7th century AD. The teachings of Zen include various currents in Mahāyāna Buddhist thought, including Yogācāra and Tathāgatagarbha philosophies, and the Prajñāpāramitā literature. From China, Zen subsequently spread south to Vietnam, and east to Korea and Japan.

As a matter of tradition, the establishment of Zen is credited to the South Indian prince-turned-monk Bodhidharma, who came to China to teach a "special transmission outside scriptures" which "did not stand upon words".

Testimonials

Thomas & Nicole,
I wanted to let you know that the flutes arrived safe and sound. I also wish to convey my deepest thanks to you and Nicole for the love that was put into making these flutes.
Some people go through life not knowing their purpose, but it is clear that you and Nicole have found your purpose by creating these works of art. They are soo beautiful, both of you have done a wonderful job.
Just so you know I'll be taking these flutes up to the hills, here in Korea, soon and while there I'll find a quiet place, play a little bit and think of you both.
I hope that your days are filled with happiness and peace,
Michael
